About This Project

It seems that we – humanity – like to experiment. Experiment with our lives to be precise. Instead of taking action to ensure a decent living for future generations, we choose to ignore the facts and remain to plunder the planet as if we have some spare ones and hope technological breakthroughs will be able to solve all problems in the future. To challenge the boundaries of our climate system, almost happy to cross the tipping points, as if a point of no return does not exist. It might, from a scientific point of view, be a very interesting experiment to see whether or not the apocalyptic scenarios are right or not, but is it worth billions of human guinea pigs?

The video ‘The Long Road Home’ links to the publication with the same name. It is the next step in the visual representation of my personal thoughts and emotions linked to the question how we got where we are now, both from an environmental perspective as from a psychological perspective. It is picturing the evolution since the big bang to somewhere in the unknown future. And with the prime question looming over all images: will we still have a place to call home in the future.
